12 days of Christmas, 12 cool songs

Swamp Rabbit was mad because Alvin and the Chipmunks didn’t make the cut. “You don’t like my Christmas playlist, then put together your own,” I told him.

I vote for Run Rudolph, which I was singing to myself half the day.  Did you know Chuck used to play in clubs in Wildwood back in the seventies or eighties?  I just finished a fishing story that you might like to read.  Marry Christmas!  S.

Thanks for the list, David! I used to have quite a collection of Christmas Songs on tape. Now it’s Pandora (with commercials, boo) or nothin’!

I’m glad it’s so easy to make playlists now. Easy to find the songs you like and ignore all the junk, like that horrible Mariah Carey song from the ’90s, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” (I heard it on the radio this morning.) Sounds like Phil Spector at his worst… Anyway, Merry Christmas!

“The Christians and the Pagans” by Dar Williams tops my list. And “Snoopy’s Christmas” by The Royal Guardsmen. Also: Father Christmas (The Kinks), “Merry Christmas from the Family” (Robert Earl Keen), “The Season’s Upon Us” (Dropkick Murphys).
